Packing used to feel chaotic for me — overpacking, forgetting things, and shoving everything in last minute. After traveling constantly for work, I finally figured out what’s actually worth bringing and what just takes up space.
This is my real-life carry-on packing list. These are the things I pack every single time I travel, whether it’s a quick weekend trip or a longer international flight. Nothing fancy, nothing unnecessary — just items that make travel smoother and way more comfortable.
Carry-On Essentials I Always Pack
These are the basics that never leave my carry-on.
Packing cubes – I can’t travel without them. They keep everything organized and somehow make more space
Lightweight carry-on bag or backpack – Easy to carry, fits overhead, and doesn’t feel bulky
TSA-approved toiletry bag – Makes security way less stressful
Reusable travel bottles – Perfect for skincare without leaks
Foldable tote bag – Comes in handy more often than you’d think
In-Flight Must-Haves
Flights are so much better when you’re comfortable.
Neck pillow – Especially helpful on longer flights
Eye mask – Great for naps and red-eye flights
Noise-canceling headphones or earbuds – Blocks out airplane noise and distractions
Lip balm & hand cream – Airplane air is incredibly drying
Cozy socks or compression socks – Comfortable and practical
Organization & Travel Tech
These little things save time and stress.
Portable charger – I never travel without one
Universal travel adapter – One adapter for multiple countries
Air Tag– Peace of mind, especially on connecting flights
Travel wallet – Keeps everything in one place
Cord organizer – No more digging for chargers
Clothes I Actually Wear
I pack simple pieces that mix and match easily.
Comfortable walking shoes – If they’re not broken in, they stay home
Lightweight jacket or cardigan – Planes are always cold
Wrinkle-resistant basics – Easy outfits without the hassle
Comfy sleepwear – You’ll thank yourself later
Toiletries & Personal Care
I keep this minimal and practical.
Basic skincare – Cleanser, moisturizer, SPF
Dry shampoo – A travel essential
Wrinkle-release spray – Helps clothes look presentable fast
Small makeup bag – Multi-use products only
A Few Packing Tips I Swear By
Lay everything out before packing
Stick to a neutral color palette
Roll your clothes to save space
Keep essentials in your personal item, not overhead
